Can I send my ESP to another phone number other than my own?
Your ESP is only of benefit to you so your ESP on someone else's phone provides them no benefit.  It could actually harm them if they were in an emergency and your ESP was accessed on their phone, especially if you look similar. Have them create their own membership, it may save their life!

If I have multiple phones can I send it to those as well?
YES.  Make the changes to your ESP phone number and service provider in the membership field once your subscription has been approved and send it to as many phones as you like.  BUT, remember it is YOUR ESP that is being installed on that phone.

Is my ESP password protected?
NO. Your ESP resides on your phone as an application either as part of your desk top menu or inside your games and applications folder, and on most phones will be identified with the MyRapidMD icon. It can be accessed by anyone who selects the MyRapidMD icon at which time your ESP will be displayed.

Why can I not password protect my ESP?
Your ESP needs to be EASILY and READILY accessible at the scene of a medical emergency especially if you are incapacitated. If you can't tell the emergency services personnel or ER doctors your password then they can't get your vital ESP information.

Does that mean anyone can access and see my ESP details if they select the MyRapidMD icon on my phone?
YES. We realize there may be some sensitive information that you may not want to appear on your ESP display. We have identified 5 fields in the ESP member form that can be checked as "Private" and these fields will NOT be displayed as part of your ESP. They are:
  1. Date of Birth
  2. Rx/Meds (Medications)
  3. Past medical history/Current Conditions
  4. Surgeries within the last 90 days
  5. Identifying marks
Any one or all of these fields that are checked as Private will instead refer the EMS professional to call a toll free number where information in these fields will be repeated to the caller, once they have input your member ID number, via our 24 hour automated voice response call center.

As an example of information you wish to remain private, you may be in an early stage of  pregnancy and not want that information known as yet, or taking particular medications for certain medical conditions that you have not shared publicly with others. There are a number of personal reasons we can't think of but you can, so we leave this to your best judgment.

Can anyone get access to this Private information if they call the number and enter my MyRapidMD member number?
YES. At the end of the day there is a sense of responsibility and value you as a MyRapidMD member must consider. And that is the question of whether the privacy of the information you check as Private or leave out is really worth your LIFE?

We strongly encourage all members to make as much information as possible available on the ESP form to be displayed on their phone. The quicker EMS professionals have the information the better they can help you.

While checking some information as Private may give you a sense of confidentiality, your priority should be "Your Phone Your Life." Protect your phone like your wallet!

Does my phone need to connect to the Internet for my ESP to be displayed?
After you have completed the application from a computer and your membership has been accepted, your mobile phone will need to connect to the Internet only to load your ESP to your phone. After following your phone's download instructions your ESP will be saved either on your menu or in your games and applications folder.

Once it is loaded you no longer require an Internet connection to display your ESP.

What if my cell phone is lost or stolen?
If you are like most people you will be more annoyed about losing your contact list than your ESP.

Can I receive a replacement of "My ESP" for my new phone?
YES, as long as your membership is current. If you receive the same phone number for your new/replacement phone then simply visit our website and enter your user name and password and your ESP will be available for edit and update. Ensure all the info is still correct, upload a new photo of yourself and follow the instructions.

If it is a new number and service provider then ensure to make those changes on your ESP form, upload a new photo of  yourself and follow the instructions.

You can do this as many times as you lose your phone/s as long as your membership is current.

How do I install my ESP on a Palm device?
Palm phones or PDAs need to have a Java emulator installed for ESP to work. Palm factory devices do not have the ability to install Java programs without an emulator. Palm emulator installation instructions are availble by clicking here.
